AGRICULTURAL R&D: INVESTING IN AFRICA’S FUTURE

05-Dec-2011 to 07-Dec-2011. ASTI, together with the International Food Policy Report Institute (IFPRI), where ASTI is based, and the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA), convened a conference on agricultural R&D in Africa.

The conference focused on the following themes:

• Theme 1. Why do African Governments Underinvest in Agricultural R&D?
• Theme 2. Human Resource Development for Agricultural R&D
• Theme 3. Measuring and Improving the Effectiveness of R&D Systems
• Theme 4. Aligning and Rationalizing Institutional Structures of Agricultural R&D
